The first reason that I do not like casein is that a lot of people are sensitized to it. What you may not know is that there are different varieties of allergies out there.. A group of people might be allergic to the same substance but their bodies might react to in different ways. The lectin components of casein lead to a blood type allergy reaction which can be confused with classical allergies. The next reason that I do not like to use a protein supplement that is based on casein is that it is incredibly hard to digest. Somebody might have informed you that casein impacts amino acid release in a positive way. What they fail to inform you is that casein, by being so hard to digest due to its structural properties, taxes the body of energy and enzymes. In other words, casein utilizes too many enzymes and energy when it is digested.
The 3rd reason I do not like casein has to do with the way it is prepared. You see, casein is very susceptible to heat and the protein it is made up of can easily be denaturated. Regretably, even many of the best producers do not meet the necessary care required to treat this sensitive class of protein. For these reasons I think casein should not be consumed as a protein product.
To sum up, cassein is not a quality source of protein because it reacts with many individuals blood type, it is hard to digest and taxing to the body and is also susceptible to denaturation by even common manufacturing protocols.
